hi, i have just started using cvs on a live project and am a bit confused (scratch that! thoroughly confused). This is the scenario as i understand it 1. Checkout the cvs contents into my sandbox 2. first thing in the morning update my sandbox - myfile.py is now in sync with the cvs version 3. i work on myfile.py and make several changes 4. before i commit, another developer has committed some changes to myfile.py 5. if i run update before committing, i would lose my changes to myfile.py? 6. and if i commit before updating the other guy would lose his changes? -- regards kg http://www.onlineindianhotels.net - hotel bookings reservations in over 4600 hotels in India http://www.ootygolfclub.org ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by The 2004 JavaOne(SM) Conference Learn from the experts at JavaOne(SM), Sun's Worldwide Java Developer Conference, June 28 - July 1 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA REGISTER AND SAVE! http://java.sun.com/javaone/sf Priority Code NWMGYKND
