Hi,

I missed your initial query. But I guess you are looking for some
sleeps with high granuality.

Some other alternatives can be implementing iowaits. usage of outb
gives good granuality of delays in case you want to control some h/w.

Also, nanosleep(...) with changed scheduling is another alternative
