Suggestion Needed..

Hi, I'm Bivas. I just came to know about this iLUG group in Kolkata today in the Book fair. And I've just registered as a member. waiting for the approval of the Admin.. I need some suggestion. My machine configuration is - AMD Athlon XP 2400+ 2GHz MSI KM4M Series Motherboard 120GB HDD 384Mb (128+256) DDR1 Ram No Graphics card.. I'm novice in UNIX system and currently working my way through it with the help of the book by Sumitabha das.. I wanna do a dual booting in my machine. I'm gonna keep WinXP as i need it for learning VB and I wanna use a flavor of Linux.. Now I wanna know which version of Linux would be better for my requirements. Someone told me RedHat 9 would run fine in my system and Fedora Core 9/10 would not run well.. I wanna know what you suggest..
