Question: a) how "slow" is slow? please have a look at http://broadbandforum.in/bsnl-mobile/21101-how-bsnl-gprs-service/ (specifically to the reply from Diwakar) > Does kbluetoothd support bluetooth v2 ? Does it have anything to do > with the speed of my connection? Have a look at the air interface speeds for BT 1.1 / 1.2 / 2.0 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth#Air_interface Given that the standard BSNL gprs speeds won't be coming anywhere near those limits for 1.1 and 1.2 interfaces, v2.x interface speeds is of little relevance in your case. In case you are using EVDO please clarify. > Does signal strength of mobile tower play any role? I am far from > nearest tower and don't get full strength signal.. Signal strength has *everything* to do with the speed. Lower strength == lower speeds. hth -indra _______________________________________________ Ilug-cal-discuss mailing list Ilug-cal-discuss-PMNjqutUrVNkNBGiPgg+Odi2O/[email protected] http://list.ilug-cal.org/mailman/listinfo/ilug-cal-discuss
