About Bengali Unocode support or Baishakhi Linux

Dear all,

I am working with Bengali text transcription for my PhD. Recently
there was a mail through ILUG-CAL list about a review in some
newspaper about Microsoft's "wonderful" regional language support
policy. I want to know more about LINUX's policy about bengali unicode
support, and if possible for any of you, a little reference about
MIcrosoft's policy about the same.

Actually I want to write about problems that I am facing while working
with windows bengali support. So I want to know what is MS's plan
about this, and if there is a way-out using linux.
