I know... I am about to commit a cardinal sin and ask for Windows help on a Linux list. I'm sorry... but in my favour... I've not fought with Brad in many Moons! LOL Maybe you can at least point me in the right direction... I have an XP machine with a failing drive. It's a vintage '02 machine with a Promise 376 SATA controller and a nvidia nforce2 chipset. I got XP installed on it '05 but now I want to install an updated copy (new drive, might as well install a clean copy, updated with the latest drivers and service packs) and it's giving me grief with that blasted Promise controller (won't use the slipstreamed driver after reboot or copy the driver from floppy during installation). I won't go into more here.... suffice to say, time is critical (and in short supply for me) so there's a case of Moosehead for whomever can get XP installed on a new SATA drive and most importantly, give me the notes on how to reproduce the spells. I'll supply the machine, the new drive and the XP disk. (subst Moosehead with fav. beverage if that's not your thing. I'm leaning toward Tequila after fighting with this rotten thing since Sat.)
