I removed the ndiswrapper, but when I issued the <sudo rmmod b43> command, the
whole system froze. So I rebooted a-la-windows and did the rest. I still didn't
get the wireless to work - iwconfig reported that there was no device. So I
followed the instructions that came up as part of the error and went to
http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#devicefirmware
There is a commandline that they recommend for Debian/ubuntu
# Ubuntu (all flavors) and Debian use the following command:
sudo /usr/share/b43-fwcutter/install_bcm43xx_firmware.sh
I did that, and it did install the drivers. The wireless network now shows me
the available networks
