Hello,

Does anyone know of VOX recording software available for Linux, 
preferably Debian/Ubuntu?

I'm looking for something to record radio broadcasts for a volunteer 
(low budget) fire department.
A microphone could be plugged into radio equipment for receiving the 
signal. The difficult part is
the VOX to avoid recording "dead air" continuously.

If a time and date stamp is possible  that would be great!
