I use Fedora 10.  There have been several changes since FC6 that you
seem to have run into.

SELinux can be a PITA until you are used to it.  The best answer is to
set the System Default Enforcing Mode to Permissive until you have
everything working, then dive into learning how SELinux works.

In place of network, Fedora 10 uses the Network Manager that is supposed
to be a "just works" application.  There is no longer a network.config
file and no resolution file.  Check out /etc/networks
and /etc/NetworkManager.  In fact, I have found, it does just work.  But
reading from the Fedora mailing list when people start screwing around
with it, hoping the it works like network.config, they just get into
trouble.
