As for myself, I plan on completely leaving Bell for another provider (and technology) for my high-speed internet. They gave so much hard time trying to get a connection with ADSL, and nobody ever wanted to do anything to get me a decent ADSL connection. My next door neighbor has a decent 3mbps connection, but I cannot and we're all on the same post. Although Videotron gave us some trouble when we moved, they were reliable when I had them for three years (my omployer way paying the connection for support). I can also have phone and other gadgets all with them. So this means that if I leave bell for Internet, that's for everything else. Sometime I miss Rogers......... Have a great day :-) JF -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [oclug] Linux slows down e-mail (sic) From: "Croombe F. Pensom" <[email protected]> Date: Thu, February 26, 2009 2:11 pm To: OCLUG <[email protected]> How's this for idiocy? I called Bell this morning to complain that it was taking upwards of TWO minutes to get e-mail from them. I was ASSURED that it was because I was using Linux. Twit. I told the so-called technician he was talking through his lower aperture rather than his upper and insisted that it didn't matter WHAT OS I was using : I could even have a whole pile of gnomes inside a black box flipping switches and Bell wouldn't know the difference. I was denied this and told that the problem was definitely Linux. I then used some bad language and hung up on this twit of a technician. When WILL Bell get some INTELLIGENT people on their technical assistance line? CroombeFP -- This e-mail produced entirely under Linux. Absolutely NO M$ products have been used. -- OCLUG general discussion list [email protected] http://oclug.on.ca/mailman/listinfo/oclug -- OCLUG general discussion list [email protected] http://oclug.on.ca/mailman/listinfo/oclug
