Hello all.

In the various experimentation going on, has there been anyone who has
installed Ubuntu 8.04 onto a Mac Powerbook G3?

The Powerbook I am looking at is one of the low megahertz models.
The CD-R/W disks I use are apparently not being formatted correctly.
The error message on the G3 Format message box says: "This disk is
unreadable by this Computer. Do you want to initialize the disk?"
    followed by: "Name: untitled"
and: "Format: ProDOS 0K" in the Format box. with no
alternative disk format available,
with available buttons being: "Eject" and "Initialize".

The error message is definitely repeatable.
CD-R/W disks written under Fedora 8 and Windows XP using the Nero
version that came with the DVD writer, resulted in the same error message.
(This seems weird to me to be seeing ProDOS mentioned as a format on a Mac).

Is there someone in OCLUG who has previously installed either of the
Ubuntu 8.04 PPC ISOs onto a Powerbook G3?
