Cannot log in as root [Fedora 11]

I have just moved over from F10 to F11. In F10 there was a fix to allow root to log in which consisted of removing half a line from /etc/pam.d/gdm. I have done the same with F11 but I am now not able to log in as root. I would dearly love to retrieve that old ability and use a gui when super user. Has anyone any idea how I can get around this?
