That is great. By the way, I switched on the fancy eye candy -- go to System->appearance and select 'extra' in the Visual effects tab. I was expecting it to be too sluggish on the AAO, but it works just fine. I've installed compiz-configuration-manager and tweaked it to add some stuff i'm used to and it is working great. Good to hear your friend is getting on ok with it.
