Hi Howard, I had the same issue with one of my Dell machines. I suspect adding i8042.reset to your boot options will fix your keyboard issues when not on A/C power. e.g. if you're using grub on Ubuntu as a bootloader edit /boot/grub/menu.lst And change the line that looks like this: # kopt=root=UUID=c10a4641-f9b2-8b06-7127-bb1ba1fe45d4 ro To be this # kopt=root=UUID=c10a4641-f9b2-8b06-7127-bb1ba1fe45d4 ro i8042.reset Save, then run "update-grub" as root. Then reboot. In theory, it *should* go away.
