Dumitru is correct in saying that the cost of replacement toner is far 
more important than the cost of the printer itself. That said, I have 
deployed both Brother and Samsung printers in a corporate environment. 
In terms of toner/drum replacements the cost over a longer period of 
time is about the same; i.e., the toner cartridge for the Brother is 
less expensive, but the cost of the drum when amortized over several 
toner cartridges yields a similar cost to Samsung's toner/drum combos. 
Both manufacurers make good, reliable and Linux friendly units. It is 
really a question of personal preference.
