Usually, serial ports on computers have a male port on the back. If this is a female port, you would likely meed a simple male-to-female cable. Question is about the number of pins. On a PC, this is usually 9 pins. What is it on your Netgear router ? Do you have a PC with a serial port that you can actually operate and use under linux ? I want to connect to it but I have no idea what kind of cable I need. I'm looking for someone with a cable to try it for me. I don't want to buy a cable unless I know it will work. I think it's broadcom based. The eventual goal is to get it working with dd-wrt.
