You are probably better off to see if OpenOffice will open the old files
you've got.
You *could* install an old distro in VirtualBox, and then install it
there...
If you *really* want to run WPO2K on your modern distro, you'll need to
compile and install the old ncurses library, but expect there to be MANY
more missing libraries with old versions - it was built against what were,
even *then*, older versions of libraries. I think I remember it using a
soon-to-be-superceeded version of glibc, even.
I had missong libs hiccups like that when installing on Slackware, if I
remember rightly, but patience is a (SysAdmin) virtue... once I compiled
and installed them so that all the libs were there, it worked.
I fondly remember buying it at an OCLUG meeting - it was the FIRST non-OS
Linux program I was ever able to actually buy. I think I even have it
kicking around my basement somewhere.
