Themes for 2011/2012

What would you like to hear or speak about at OCLUG meetings in the next year? I would like all of these to have a main "geek" component, and at least a short section for people with less technical backgrounds but some interest in command lines and configuration of their Linux OS. I like Panel and Lightning formats, so big speeches may not be necessary - although some topics work well with them. I have some ideas myself: - Open source companies - speakers from the Open Source Ventures at Carleton, businesses in the Ottawa area, Credil, Ingres - Open source projects - talk about your project, how people can get involved or start their own - FOSS databases - FOSS web servers - programming - your fave libraries and new features - language tutorial? - Conferences! - your fave and why, how to run one? More ideas? Speakers you would like? volunteers for short or long or panel? I want ideas for the next board meeting - which may be next week. Thanks! -- Rob Echlin, B.
