Tutorials on using GIT and DIFF utilities

I got the URL for a wiki page on RPi Linux building process from Robert,
and I realize that it is not clear to me. It may be for others, but I am
unsure about how to go ahead with some of the diff lines in the page,
and I guess some tutorial or general user information would be
beneficial to more than just myself. 

However, I also realize this is something rather technical and not used
by so many of us. How about having Robert  or some other GIT guru give
some presentation ? Anybody else thinks this could be useful ?
