Hey all! This month's meeting will be going ahead as planned. This month's meeting is this coming Thursday (31st January) at 7:30PM. Myself and some others will be around from 7PM onwards for anyone who wants to turn up early to have a chat beforehand. Electron Club, CCA 350 Sauchiehall Street Glasgow G2 3JD This months talk has been kindly offered by Paul Mason: Cybersecurity Competitions ----------------------------------- Given that Cybersecurity is becoming an issue for all organisations, not just the largest ones. There is a shortage of qualified Cybersecurity professionals available to meet the needs of organisations. Cybersecurity competitions have come into existence to help train and recruit new professionals to the field. Over the past year Paul has been a participant in competitions, challenges and researched training resources and qualifications. Security puzzles are built for competitors based on the real threats faced by organisations today. Find out which countries and organisations are sponsoring security challenges; how they structure the competitions; how we can surmise what skills may be lacking and how we can learn to develop skills using ethical and legitimate resources. We'll finish with examples of a few questions, challenges and solutions in previous competitions. As always, we will end this meeting with a few drinks in the CCA Bar. Looking forward to seeing you all there. Cheers and Hope to see you all there!
