Folks,

I'm part of a volunteer team which will be bringing a conference to
Edinburgh (EICC) in October.

It's the International DB2 User Group : https://www.idug.org/emea2020

What's that got to do with Linux you say? Well a huge percentage of the
DB2 used worldwide runs on Linux.

We'd like to encourage local access to the conference, particularly
students / academics / developers. We've thought of allowing certain
types of attendees free access to part of the conference. We also thought
of perhaps organizing some sort of Hackathon event.

I'm reaching out to the LUGs because I think they might be a good route
into this community.

My team has its first meeting in Edinburgh this weekend.

I'd appreciate your thoughts, and if anyone can provide me with good
contacts in the universities that would be great.
