Like I said, Brian Mallard is a Baptist Deacon, not a minister.

As Brian Mallard explained:

"Deacon is a supportive position to the pastor."

"In the Christian faith, all believers are preachers, but in the church organization, deacons are servants to the church."

"Deacons aren't ministers or pastors in the church, we serve the needs of the pastor so he can concentrate of sermons."
