If the economy doesn't get too bad, the Dems will probably be shut out
again.

Otoh, they might actually get their shit together, make plans, execute
them and then sit on their thumbs wondering how they lost the White
House in 2028.

The only thing that can kill a party is the economy.  If it goes
deeply south before election day 2026, it will not go well with
Republicans.

As long as it remains at least stable, the Reps will probably win that
election too.

The Democrats have failed to shed their radical wing while the
Republicans have figured out how to use theirs.

Schumer isn't stupid.  Shutdowns belong to the Republicans.
