  ..   a fully charged battery   vs   a  dead battery  ?    
.. might make a  difference in the power draw ?
  over and above the actual laptop use.
The last time I measured a laptop usage was way back
in the  XpPro-Vista era ;  ~ 100 watts  if I remember.
