   [The ECC circuitry is inside the CPU and not the chipset. The chipset is a Southbridge only, a PCH.
    The "chipset support" means "our marketing team bent some arms to make this happen that way". ]

You can't always get T processors on Newegg, like your 14600T suggestion.
Check carefully (make sure vendor is not on the Shanghai shoreline).

Now, these things do change with the times, and one reason for a 14600T to show
up, is pre-built system builders have switched to 285's and the like and the
14600T would be "old-hat". The 285 is a different socket. A new version of the
285 will show up later this year, with "extra gubbins" to make up for the
"flop of a launch" earlier on. What fab will they use ? Who knows...

One of the mistakes they made, was the PCIe Rev5 NVMe interface,
couldn't run at 14000MB/sec due to a "long path" inside the chip,
and that would be one of the things the new version of the chip
will fix. Now, who cares whether it runs at 14000MB/sec ? o.O
But, there you are. If the competition runs at 14000, then
so must you. Meanwhile, the socket on my daily driver runs
at 3500.
