Yes, of course.

I only see his excreta if somebody quotes him and usually I only 
read it if it makes reference to me.  Then I might spit in his eye or 
I might not.  It's partly pour encourager les autres; no big deal.  

My rule is 'never make a threat unless you're prepared to carry it out'
otherwise you lose credibility.
