Las Vegas journalist identified as victim in suspicious homicide

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) - Las Vegas Metro Police are investigating the death of
local Journalist, Matthew Kelemen, whose body was found inside a bin
that was dropped off at a downtown Las Vegas business, near Fremont
Street. 

Preliminary details of the investigation conducted by LVMPD reveal that
on May 20, officers responded to reports of a foul odor coming from a
large bin inside The Beef Jerky Store. 

Further details of that investigation reveal the business partners with
'Bounce', which is a storage company that works with local businesses
around the world, to allow for secure spaces for travelers to store
their luggage. 

Upon further investigation, details of the report show officers had to
use bolt cutters to open the locked bin; that's where LVMPD officers
found contents stained with blood as well as Klemen's body wrapped in a
tarp. 

Once LVMPD's homicide unit took over, investigators were able to link
and identify 63-year-old Joseph Del Rivo as the prime suspect behind the
homicide. 

However, on May 21, Utah's Highway Patrol revealed Del Rivo had been
involved in a high-speed police chase in Richfield, Utah, where police
say he drove speeds in excess of 140mph. 

Investigators say as a result, Del Rivo was ejected from his vehicle,
where he was later pronounced dead. 

Further details show that Klemen's body had been left inside the bin for
at least four days.

owner declined.
