[OOT...] California Lawmakers Propose Ten-Billion Dollars in Tax Increases

A new report shows California lawmakers have proposed increasing taxes and 
fees in the state by more than ten-billion-dollars during the first three 
months of 2025. David Kline with the California Tax Foundation says the 
reports shows 36 proposed hits to the taxpayer so far, but only six can be 
quantified.

All 10-billion dollars are coming from those six. He says that means the 
amount of proposed increased taxes and fees will grow.

The new taxes and fees proposed by lawmakers include increased costs for 
gasoline, prepaid telephones, emergency flares and public transportation 
tickets for specified sporting events in Los Angeles among other things.
