But that's exactly determined by losses to the environment, as it's the
only place the energy can go.

The units above don't quite make sense. Is the "Wh" column watts, or 
watt-hours?

If it's watts, the manufacturer has already measured what you need to solve 
the problem. If it's watt-hours I'm confused.
