Places like Facebook, Twitter/Shitter/X or whatever their name=20 is this month. They're all like toilets, they sucked away all the=20 good, legitimate traffic from Usenet groups, and from topic-=20 specific private and public moderated forums. This leaves cracks in the pavement so to speak, for the bots and=20 other dreck to creep in and ruin the place! I'm a regular on several car-related forums, including one Filipino based site, and for the most part, it's all good, clean car stuff -=20 driving cars, best SUV to buy, tire recommendations, how handle=20 a ticket if you get one, etc.=20 I for one would NEVER join a car- or any other topic - related group on Facebook, for instance. I ask a simple underhood question, I get ten=20 conflicting answers, it devolves into argument, finger-pointing,=20 name-calling, political jabs, conspiracy spins, and ultimately someone gets banned or ends up in "FB jail". =20 Noooooooo..... thank you!=20 It's a shame that cesspools like that have won out over the bastions of=20 civility that Usenet and moderated closed forums used to be.
