the difference between furries and bronies is that there the same fandom 
in spirit but one is based on an experience (like anime, alternative 
club music (ie eurodance, chicago house or dnb) or gaming)

while the other is designed to sell you things (like the justin bieber 
fandom of the early 2010s, marvel, call of duty and now even helluva 
boss/hazbin hotel)

bronies also used to tend to take what furries did and cheapen it with 
its strict wild west type aesthetic from the show, which doesn't 
translate well at all with the furry building techniques,

all while real furries back then were bullied online by the bronies for 
liking furries (ie terms like yiff in hell furf*gs etc), i still get 
vietnam flashbacks from that era "shivers"

also like with justin bieber or free dlc on the dreamcast
because mlp was marketed as a product mlp was just a fad

while furries have a long history of multiple subcultures, movements, 
fashion trends, fundraisers, parties etc, creating several technological 
innovations and pioneering concepts like anime, edible packing peanuts, 
the modern internet, and even car stereos and the covid vaccine

mlp pretty much started to die out once the hub network was shutdown and 
the the G4 movie came out and now the only thing that mlp has is a movie 
that was trying to rip off zootopia and 2 cartoons 1 that looks like 
cocomelon and the other that looks like family guy with horses for kids


its pretty much the same thing as comparing homestuck to anime or 
comparing recession pop to eurodance, 80s/early 90s boomer rap to 2010s 
emo rap, or american chr style kpop from the 2020s to vocaloid music

its not the same,
they were just using clout from the better fandoms to try and sell you 
something
