The magnitude on the Moon is about -13, the Sun -27. Jupiter is -2, Mars about the same. Sirius is -1.5, Betelgeuse and Aldebaran about +1. Limit to what you can see is around +6. The suface of the Moon is way too bright to be able to see any stars if you're stood to it.
