I guess pdflib support might need better detection in the configure script.
If the includes are not in compiler default path, the configure script
looks for a directory named include in the supplied pdflib directory.
In the pdflib 0.6 archive that I got there is no include directory in that
archive as include files are in the same directory as source.

Similar things go for xml expat support.  Either the includes and the
library are in the default compiler lookup path or else the configure
script won't see them. Also, PHP XML bindings source expect include files
to be in a directory named xml while ine the distribution of expat that
I got from Stig's page they are in xmlparse and xmltok directories.

I guess these packages (pdflib and expat) could use proper installation but
in the archives that I got, they don't.  So, I'm afraid more people will
stumble on this like I did.
