The non-content changes (whitespace, dots) should be pushed with individual (not squashed) commit messages starting with "[skip-revcheck]". Content changes can be committed again as normal. The "splitted from" and $Revision$ comments I think should not be erased, but changed to something like "<!-- revision tag -->", "<!-- revtag -->" or "<!-- revcheck tag -->", inclusive on scripts.
