    Good morning, Roger;

As long as you don't insinuate that you or another are responsible
for actually writing the documentation, nor that - by its use, reuse,
or distribution - we endorse or otherwise support your project(s),
then you're free to do pretty much whatever you please with the
documentation. You can even rewrite parts as you see fit, so long as
you mark those areas as your own work modified from the original
project.

The official PHP documentation is licensed under the very liberal
Creative Commons "Attribution 3.0 Unported" license. In summary, the
license allows that you can do anything at all with the works provided
that:

        * You give credit to the original author(s) - this information
is included in the docs already
        * You do not suggest that you have provided any contributions
to the original work
        * You acknowledge that the PHP Group as a whole, and
specifically the Documentation Team, does not support your products,
services, or other endeavors

The license in its entirety can be viewed here:
        http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/legalcode

That aside, if you definitely decide to go through with your
project, please let us know on [email protected], as we'd love to
hear about your progress and where we can find it.

Then I'll have to get someone with an iPhone to show it to me. ;-P

Thanks for writing, Roger, and best of luck with your project!
