Once upon a time Knut made an honest attempt in translating it, didn't
get very far though.

No no no.. Don't do that, its a waste of effort as we can't use it..
The original format of the docs is Docbook XML which we then render
into different formats (such as html).

Sounds great. I do however recommend that you commit couple of files
at a time, rather then waiting with million sentences translated and
then loosing them all..
