     Od <literal>PHP</literal> 4.3.0 je parameter <parameter>rok</parameter>
     voliteµným a ak sa vynechá, tak sa vychádza a zo súèasného roka podµa
     miestneho èasu.

     Parameter <parameter>metoda</parameter> bol predstavený v
     <literal>PHP</literal> 4.3.0 a umo¾òuje poèítanie veµkonoèných dátumov
     zalo¾ených na Gregoriánskom kalendári poèas rokov 1582 - 1752, keï
     je nastevený na<constant>CAL_EASTER_ROMAN</constant>. Pozri <link
     linkend="calendar.constants">kalendárne kon¹tanty</link> pre viac
     platných kon¹tánt.

     Táto funkcia sa mô¾e pou¾i» namiesto
     <function>easter_date</function> na výpoèet Veµkej noci pre roky,
     ktoré padajú mimo rozsah UNIXového èasu (t.j. pred 1970 alebo
     po 2037).

     Dátum Veµkonoèného dòa bol definovaný Radou Nicaea v 325 n.l.
     ako nedeµa po prvom splne, ktorý padá na jarnú rovnodennos» alebo
     po òom. Rovnodennos» pripadá v¾dy na 21. marec, tak¾e výpoèet sa
     redukuje o urèovanie dátumu po splne a dátumu následujúcej nedele.
     Tu pou¾itý algoritmus bol predstavený okolo  roku 532
     Dionysiusom Exiguusom. V Juliánskom kalendári ( pre roky
     pred 1753) sa jednoduchý 19-roèný cyklus pou¾íva na sledovanie
     fáz Mesiaca. V Gregoriánskom kalendári (pre roky po roku 1753
     - vymysleli ho Clavius a Lilius a predstavil ho Pápe¾
     Gregory XIII v októbri 1582, do Británie a jej kolónii
     v septembri 1752) sú pridané dva opravné faktory, aby sa cyklus
     urobil presnej¹ím.

     n.l., takéto pou¾itie nemá zmysel. Gregoriánsky kalendár nebol do
     15. októbra 1582 (alebo 5. októbra 1582 v Juliánskom kalendári)
     zavedený. Niektoré krajiny ho neprijali ani neskor¹ie. Na príklad,
     Británia ho zaviedla v 1752, ZSSR v 1918 a Grécko v 1923. Väè¹ina
     Európskych krajín pred jeho zavedením pou¾ívala Juliánsky
     kalendár.
