Agreed, it's kind of a mess. I think it's a mix where temporary fixes on euk2 became permanent and then forgotten. I'm certainly part of the cause so feel obligated to help fix it :D

Ah good. I only checked `which phd` before writing that but it makes sense. Probably best to uninstall phd there to have a single phd location (used from git) just in case.

As for updating phd on the rsync machine (I think that's what's needed), Hannes did that in the past and few have access to that box... wisely not me.
