And what languages do you speak? This can make things also easier for us.
I think is indeed important to translate some of the content we might
collect. I can translate some content to Dutch..

Welcome to the php-evangelism list. The main goal of this list is to sell
php to IT managers. Let's say this is the first step into creating a sort of
markering team.

At the moment i'm busy to collect some figures about php, creating a list
with positive and negative points about php (mails follows in a few days).

I, Dave, work and live in the Netherlands and have spoken on a few meetings
(not specialy about PHP). Because the company i work is a Microsoft gold
partner we gets loads of informations and briefings about the microsoft
languages and techniques. 

A nice anecdote: After the microsoft msdn briefing (a free meeting organized
by microsoft) a developers was very happy to hear what C# could do.
I invited him to go to my work and showed him there that php4 could do all
the stuff C# could do. He's now working as a PHP developers within the
company i work..

The only problem is that except Zend there arent 'big' companies that
promote PHP is a industrial language for (web) development. So here comes in
the php-evangelism group. Althru some people on this list are busy creating
a website for the evangelism group (take a look at http://beta.usephp.net
for a preview), but the goal right now is to get content.

Content that could convince IT managers to use PHP as a leading language for
their projects.

I know i forgot loads a things, but promoting php to IT managers is the main
goal.

Pff, i must stop writing those damn long emails ;-)
