Yes, our intention is to provide hosting, support, etc. But also to provide
"info packs" where people interested in setting up a php usergroup can get
all the information, contact details etc they need. I've found this to be
really usefull in some other things i do, and it actually makes the whole
process much more user friendly.

and the same'll go for usephp.net and phpwire.net.

We should probably get a request process going for this, would you be
adverse to a script on master.php.net to automate this? That would probably
make life easier for group - and namely you - to manage that.

Yea, again, perhaps we can have an automated system here?

is there any chance of getting a full list of all email lists on
lists.php.net, as a sidenote?

The point is about making partnerships with people who already publish free
scripts and articles, and offer / ask to mirror them when the time comes,
and contribute to them. I have started this, i know others are working on it
too.

No. not just another. a more archival site. but that's not really important.
What's important is that we start writing content that helps a: advocate
php, and b: evangelises's it's better use.

Openprojects is fine for now... except there are more channels / people in
efnet. but that's another matter ;)

As far as this all goes, i think we've mentioned IRC, and we don't
necessarily need to go further with it. I believe that an irc network just
for php is a good thing, (look at irc.mozilla.org). but it's not important
to do right now.

You're right - it's important to discuss --and do-- the actual evangelism.
