PHP evangelism : what and who

Hi all.

Here are my latest thoughts about PHP evangelism. I'd like to see
it as a RFC, and I'm deeply interested in your suggestions.

Even before going technical, here are some overview.

People are using PHP, and more and more companies do to. But no one
is talking about it. So, let's give PHP the tools needed to make people 
talk
about the hidden part of the iceberg.

as evangelism site, we need to address those topics :
+ testimonial
+ press release
+ benchmarks/comparison with competitors
+ majors PHP news
+ economical figures
+ case studies.

To do this, we need to interview CEO and/or technical responsible about 
their
use of PHP. We need to find access for economic intelligence, where big 
contracts
involving PHP can be spotted. We need to have people publish their work.

I believe we all know some important guys in famous companies that can 
answers those
questions. But those guys will never come to us to do it, because they 
have valuable
time. So, we need to go and find them and make them answer some 
questions. This is
the part where the community can also be really helpful.

Now, I'm sure articles won't flow in just because we snapped fingers. 
So, the first need is
to stimulate them by providing a framework of questions which will ease 
the information
search. On each of the above topics, I,d like to write down a list of 
questions that can direct
a study. Here is a short out-of-my-mind example
Press Release
+ who (describe the company, its goals and achievements)
+ when (date)
+ what (text of the release).

Now, with this doc, we can start using it with our own contacts. When we 
have enough articles,
we can start publishing it, and adding some more. All the doc should be 
available on request by
any PHP community member, with one point to send any results of 
questions.

I'm sure that lots of companies will be happy to explain why they are 
successful. using PHP
will be part of this success, and this list will make sure that PHP is 
named as a tool of success.

I'm not yet discussing about means of whatever sort. I'm trying to 
figure out how to start this
advocacy, and gain momentum. From my personal experience, such site 
needs to be helped
a lot at the beginning, and also to keep its speed. There will be no 
virtuous cycle along the way.
