introduction to PHP evangelism

Hi all,

Thanks for James to introduce the PHP evangelism to all the new PHP 
evangelism site.
This will be the introductory text, and you'll see again most of ideas 
that when
thrown in during today's messages. Yes, they are also our goal, and you 
are
welcomed to participate.

The PHP evangelism group has for main goal to provide information, 
figures and
studies to help the adoption of PHP as a professional language. We 
believe that
PHP is an industrial-strength web programming language, that only lacks 
some
visibility to IT managers.

There are several area where PHP visibility may be improved :
* About PHP itself, it's use and recognition has to be shown. This can 
be achieved
by business case, case study, testimonials and industry statistics.
* For PHP related companies, a place for them to show their providing 
professional
tools and applications (both for doing and using PHP).
* Path the way for PHP future, and provide visibility for the next 5 
years.

There are hundreds of companies using PHP right now. 6 out of 10 biggest 
French
Websites use PHP. PHP is ask in 15% of job offers, second to java only. 
PHP is
present on 40 to 50% of all websites in the world (best score for 
Mauritius). All
those are hard figures, and will be available for download to everyone 
who is
pushing PHP solution into his company or association.

Our goal is to give back to PHP it's seat as best web language. Everyone 
will be
able to learn how PHP can suits their need.
