Please find as attachments two examples of the new quantization. It uses the "neuquant" algorithm and should be available in 2.1.0 as an alternative method.

test.png and test_thumb.png are the original images (from your jpeg image), -nq8 are the images using sample factor of 1 and 256 colors. I find them even better than the gimp one (which uses the medium-cut algo, can be seen by the granularity).

btw, do you use it with php (in your site)?
