A new Flyspray task has been opened. Details are below.

User who did this - Garthy (Garthy)

Attached to Project - libGD
Summary - Build failure on mingw - multiple versions of libgd including 2.0.36RC1
Task Type - Bug Report
Category - Configure/Build
Status - Unconfirmed
Assigned To -
Operating System - Windows
Severity - High
Priority - Normal
Reported Version - 2.0.36RC1
Due in Version - Undecided
Due Date - Undecided
Details - I am unable to build libgd under mingw runtime 3.14 with MSYS 1.0.10, MSYSDTK1.0.1, and gcc 3.4.5 running natively under Windows. I have tried libgd versions 2.0.33, 2.0.34, 2.0.35, and 2.0.36RC1. No luck with any.

Included is the output from each compile run for each version. They were built with the script "bi-win-gd-any", which takes one argument- the version number. This script was as far as I was able to get. Log files are "log-gd-(version)".

Information about the build system as provided by the script "sysinfo" is in "sysinfo.out".

I am building with shared libraries disabled. I am using expat 2.0.1 (I forgot to include this in sysinfo).

I have built multiple other projects in this environment (cairo, boost, DevIL, expat, freetype, libjpeg, libpng, libvorbis, lua, m4, SDL, xwWidgets), so the environment is reasonably stable- for a mingw environment anyway.

I have tried to find solutions by searching for similar problems, but have had no luck thus far.

DevIL is also an image library which has similar dependencies, and it can be made to work (with some pain), so chances are the base installs (eg. libpng) are perfectly fine.

I am not a regular user of libgd- in fact, I've never used it before. I was only trying it out to see if it is suitable for my project. I can't spend a great deal more time experimenting with libgd for this reason, but I'm happy to try out any suggestions and report on the results. I can't offer remote access to the PC- it is not net-connected and cannot be. If anyone is crazy enough to want to set up a similar environment from scratch (you'll need a Windows install and some time), let me know, and I'll list the exact source archives I used to build mine.

I hope this feedback is helpful at the least. Please let me know if there is anything I can try out and report back on.
