Like I said, my patch doesn't affect any memory allocation or deallocation. If there are any issues with gd that have shown up with valgrind, they are unrelated to this bug. Since I don't have the necessary time to test this further, I won't be able to provide any input on valgrind results. However, the root issue still remains, and the patch should fix it.
