No thoughts?  I'd be happy of libtool left it as "-lfreetype", but I specifically asked for a different freetype library (/sw/xt/gdlib/2.0.35/cnl2.2_pgi9.0.3/freetype-2.3.11/lib).  Why is it setting it to /usr/lib64/libfreetype.so?  This also happens with libjpeg.

/bin/sh ./libtool –tag=CC –mode=link cc -g -L/usr/lib64 -Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib64 -o annotate annotate.o ./libgd.la -lfreetype -lpng12 -lz
