How to upgrade?

Hi...
I have gd 1.x.x already instaled on linux but i need gd 2.x.x and I don't
want to delete my first gd (cause im getting troubles with one app
previously created with modules on gd 1.x.x)

It's any way to keep my installation and install the other lib (like 2on1
libs)
