I chose it because it's widely used and would provide relevant data.. I
wanted to begin with an application that is pretty simple to deploy but yet
feature-rich (though I had some problems with the sessions, but I think I
might have solved it, using the way I described as "the first idea", pretty
much creating all sessions that are needed before I run siege)

There's no reason why those applications couldn't take phpBB's place,
however I chose phpBB for the first application now. Could have been a bad
move, but apps like PhD could well be included later on.. One good thing is
that it won't be that hard to find a database for those applications.. :)
