One thing I noticed, from maintaing php-gtk.eu, is that several users who 
invested time on PHP-GTK did it by building their own installer.

The net result being that we currently have a profusion (well, maybe I'm 
exaggerating a bit, but still...) of not-so-much maintained 
installers/distributions for the various platforms. If you want to work on 
an installer, which IMO is indeed still the most problematic part of 
PHP-GTK, it might be nice to work on polishing one of the existing 
installers instead of creating yet another one.

One thing I would find especially nice would be to have a usable Debian 
and/or Ubuntu APT package good enough to be adopted by Debian and/or 
Canonical, instead of yet another custom installer hosted on a private site. 
PyGtk has one, why not PHP-GTK ?

Good day PHP team!

I've been a huge fan of PHP since year 2000. I went to school to study web
programming, then gained 7 years of hands-on PHP development experience, and
now doing some grad work.
For my final project (thesis) I want to make something *grand*! I've always
wanted to see PHP language to be distributed freely with an installer
(mostly for windows and macs).
And of course to run it in a window environment without the need for a web
server.
To make long story short, I want to help out. For this, I would like to know
what areas of PHP-GTK still needs development or research.

I am ready to work hard and long, to make PHP the number 1 language! :)
