2 day Seminar on Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment for Construction Industry Date: 26th & 27th July 2012 Location: Mumbai Introduction: Health and safety issues are becoming increasingly important in the modern industrial world. Risk assessment is a core element of health and safety management. Risk and safety management play an important part in every business success. Identifying the various types of hazards/risks and the implications that each might have on an organization, as well as highlighting the business benefits that can be obtained through successful risk and safety management all need to be included in an overall company strategy. The emphasis on management of health and safety and management of risk is becoming more prevalent in legislation. This course will provide participants with the practical knowledge to enable them to carry out risk assessments in their workplace. It is designed to provide guidance for the identification of hazards associated with the working environment and the principles to be applied in relation to carrying out suitable risk assessments so as to ensure staff safety and business continuity. Attended three week seminar held in Japan on “Safety Management in Construction Work” and successfully implemented many concept used by Japanese Industries. I. Methods - Comparative methods - Hazard Identification as per IS – 18001 / OHSAS -18801- 2007 - Case studies - R.A. – (Risk Assessment) - Statutory Requirements - Monitoring system of upstream activities / lead indicators of safety. Note: - The workshop will be based on different techniques used in industry such as Indian Standard IS 18001 - Safety strategy - Zurich method of Risk Assessment - Nomogram - Questionnaire - Different techniques used in Japan and other industries for HIRA and monitoring system. - During training program group exercise, Case studies will be discussed as per the topic Who should attend? It is expected that the participants attending the seminar have at least 5 years’ experience in any field (planning, designing, production, project, safety etc.), (OHSMS) coordinators or team members in an organization tasked with identifying hazards and carrying out risk assessments.
